President candidate
If elected, what are your top three priorities in the role?
"1. Enhancing Student Well-being & Support: Student life goes beyond academics, and mental health, financial stability, and academic support must be prioritized. I will push for faster access to counseling, affordable housing initiatives, and increased bursary awareness to ease financial stress. Additionally, I will advocate for mentorship programs, AI-assisted study tools, and peer-led learning groups to help students navigate academic challenges.
2. Innovation in Student Engagement: Technology should enhance how students interact with KSU and Kingston University. I will introduce a real-time student feedback system, ensuring your voice directly influences decisions. AI-driven tools can provide career guidance, job application support, and networking opportunities. I will also push for tech-driven study resources and interactive learning spaces, making academic success more accessible.
3. Strengthening Community & Career Opportunities: Building strong industry connections will help students transition from university to the workforce. I will establish partnerships with local businesses and tech firms, securing internships, mentorships, and job opportunities. International students play a key role in Kingston’s diversity, and I will work to improve support services for smoother integration. Additionally, hackathons, UX design competitions, and product management workshops will give students hands-on experience with real-world challenges."
Working with the other elected officers, which priority do you think you should share?
"Working with other elected officers, our shared priority should be enhancing student well-being and support. Mental health, financial stability, and academic success affect every student, regardless of their background or course. Together, we can push for better mental health resources, affordable housing initiatives, and stronger academic mentorship programs. By collaborating, we ensure a more inclusive and accessible support system, addressing student concerns effectively. A united effort will make Kingston University a place where every student feels supported, heard, and empowered to succeed."
How will you effectively represent and engage with your members?
"I will ensure open communication and active engagement by introducing a real-time student feedback system, allowing students to voice concerns and shape decisions. Regular town halls, drop-in sessions, and online polls will keep me connected with student needs. Collaborating with societies and student groups will help reach diverse voices across campuses. Social media and digital platforms will be used to provide transparent updates and encourage participation. By making KSU more accessible, responsive, and inclusive, I will ensure every student feels heard, valued, and empowered in shaping their university experience."
