Penrhyn Road Campus Rep candidate
What do you think is the number one priority for students on your campus?
"I believe the number one priority for students at Kingston University is academic success, particularly balancing coursework, labs, and exams to secure a strong future in their chosen fields. As a Pharmaceutical Science student, from experience I know I manage intense study schedules while gaining practical experience. However, financial stability is also a major concern, as many students face the challenge of affording essentials like food and transport on a limited budget. Ultimately, students must find a balance between excelling academically, managing finances, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle to succeed.
How would you represent students on your campus?
"To represent students at Kingston University, I would focus on academic support, financial well-being and student experience. I would advocate for better study resources, improved lab access, and clearer communication with faculty members. Firstly, I would push for organising workshops that educate students on budgeting or managing debt to promote financial independence. Academically, I would like to set up peer mentoring programmes via peer led study groups to promote collaborative learning. Additionally, I would work to enhance student life by promoting mental health services, arranging networking events via bringing in speakers every month and ensuring students’ voices are heard in decision-making.
