School of Engineering Rep candidate
What do you think is the number one priority for students in your school?
The top priority for students on campus is academic and personal support to enhance their university experience. As an international student myself, I understand how challenging it can be to adjust to a new environment, especially when transitioning from a different educational system. Many students, particularly international and first-year students, struggle with adapting to coursework, accessing the right resources, and finding a sense of belonging. Additionally, representation for underrepresented groups like women in STEM should be prioritized to create a more supportive and diverse academic environment. Addressing these concerns would improve student engagement, success, and overall satisfaction at Kingston University.
How would you represent students in your school?
As a school rep, I will actively listen to students and ensure their voices are heard at the school level. Having experienced the challenges of transitioning as an international student, I will advocate for better academic support, mentorship programs, and smoother integration for new students. I will also promote inclusivity, encouraging more women in STEM. By collaborating with course reps and faculty, I will address academic concerns, improve communication, and push for career development opportunities. Additionally, I will work to enhance campus facilities and resources, ensuring all students have access to the support they need for a successful university experience.
