School of Nursing Allied and Public Health School Rep candidate
What do you think is the number one priority for students in your school?
I believe the number one priority for students at Kingston University is their overall wellbeing. Ensuring all students holistic needs are met by both the school, staff and other students is essential to promote their overall wellbeing. Students deserve to have a platform where their voice can be heard to express their needs that will assist their everyday living needs including their physical, emotional, social, mental, and educational needs. I want to be a school representative to create this platform and support students every step of the way on their individual journeys. With the aim of supporting everyone’s wellbeing, this will require a strong community which is welcoming and comforting, a strong team who can communicate effectively and an accessible avenue of support open for all students. I am confident that having the tools available and the adequate support from staff and the school, I can prioritise the student's wellbeing and achieve these goals that are in the best interest of all students.
How would you represent students in your school?
I believe I would be a suitable candidate for the role of a school representative for Kingston University, as I am a determined and committed student who is extremely passionate about the student voice. I know many of my fellow students feel this same passion and excitement, which is why it’s significant for a welcoming, understanding, and supportive community of students to be established. I would ensure this by encouraging collaboration between all students and staff in this school as ongoing communication is essential to achieving shared goals. As part of my role, I would represent students' academic and non-academic needs and interests. I believe it’s important to gather a wide range of student's perspectives and opinions to ensure all students feel listened to and supported throughout their studies. Overall, I would thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to be selected as a school representative as I believe the student voice has a powerful significance when advocated for effectively and in collaboration with staff.
