Hi! Welcome to Kingston Students' Union
Turn movement into drawings and sculptures.
Finding Ways to Materialise Movement – Workshop with Tallulah-Mae Kelsey
Come explore the connection between movement, drawing, and sculpture in this hands-on workshop! Together, we’ll explore the qualities of contemporary dance its shapes, forms, and use of space and see how movement can be inspired by both ideas and visuals.Using materials like charcoal, ink, pencils, and paint, you’ll translate the flow and energy of the movement into expressive drawings. We’ll turn those drawings into 3D sculptures using malleable wire, wrapping, weaving, and knotting fabric to bring the movement fully to life. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a physical piece that reflects the movement you’ve explored and created.
This workshop is about collaboration, creativity, and experimentation there’s no “right” way to move, draw, or build. It’s for anyone curious about dance, art, or just trying something new.
