Empowering Voices: Celebrating Black History & Supporting Black Students at Kingston University

As BHM ends, our commitment to supporting Black students remains steadfast at Kingston University. Throughout this month, we have seen thought-provoking discussions, inspiring events, and moments of deep connection that have highlighted the immense contributions of Black leaders, artists, thinkers, and activists. More importantly, we’ve focused on amplifying the voices of our Black students, ensuring their stories and perspectives are not only heard but valued and acted upon within our university community.

But this is only a part of our larger journey. As President of KSU, I am dedicated to fostering an environment where all students feel seen, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential. Black History Month may be concluding, but our commitment to equity, representation, and meaningful change is ongoing. Thank you to everyone who participated, organized, and joined us in this celebration and learning experience.

Let us continue working together, learning, and honouring Black history every day, while building a future that is just, inclusive, and rich in diversity.

Thank you.
