Kingston Students' Union is thrilled to celebrate Pride Month with our incredible students and staff.
This month, we honour the resilience and vibrant spirit of our diverse LGBTQ+ community, here at Kingston and across the world.
Pride Month is celebrated in June to commemorate the Stonewall Riots of 1969, a pivotal moment in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. The first Pride parade took place in New York City on June 28, 1970, marking the anniversary of the riots and sparking a global movement for equality that is still ongoing today.
In the current political climate, where LGBTQ+ rights are increasingly under threat in the UK, it is more important than ever to stand together in solidarity. Let's come together to support, uplift, and celebrate each other.
Let's continue to make Kingston SU and beyond a place where everyone feels at home!
Kingston University LGBTQ+ Staff Network has proposed either a Pride picnic or attending London Pride together.
