We are delighted to share the details of our upcoming By-Elections, where you will be electing the following roles:
Faculty Reps:
- KSA Faculty Rep (UG)
- KSA Faculty Rep (PG)
- FECE Faculty Rep (UG)
- FBSS Faculty Rep (PG)
- HSSCE Faculty Rep (PG)
Faculty Reps exist to represent student interests and support the coordination of student voice across their faculty and, as Student Council members, hold the three Student officers to account, represent students, and agree policies of the Union. You are eligible to run for the role of which you are a part (e.g., if you are an UG KSA student, you can only run for the KSA Faculty Rep (UG)). This is a volunteer position.
Campus Reps:
The following Campus Rep positions are available in the By-Elections:
Campus Reps exist to represent student interests and support the coordination of student voice on their campus and, as Student Council members, hold the three Student officers to account, represent students, and agree policies of the Union. You are eligible to run for the role of which you are a part (e.g., you can only run for the Kingston Hill Campus Rep role if KH is your main campus). This is a volunteer position.

Submitting your manifesto:
- A manifesto is a collection of pledges or commitments that you would aim to work on if elected. This is what students will see when deciding who to vote for, so it is your opportunity to explain what you want to achieve as their representative.
- We recommend focusing on two or three priorities that matter to students in your faculty or on your campus. Your commitments should be SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-specific.
- You will be able to submit your manifesto alongside your nomination from 10:00 on Monday the 7th of September.
- Your manifesto must be submitted by 11:59 on Friday the 2nd of October.
- Please note that any candidacy without a manifesto by the deadline will be ineligible and will not be included in the election.
- There may be different candidate requirements for the different positions up for election.
Candidate information and support :
Candidates will receive information about the election process, campaigning requirements and the responsibilities of the role before campaigning begins.
All candidates and campaigners will be required to follow the KSU Elections Rules and Regulations throughout the election period.
Voting:
Only students eligible to be represented by a particular role will be able to vote in that election.

- Successful candidates will start their role on Tuesday the 13th of October for the remainder of the 2026/27 academic year.
- Every candidate and campaigner will be required to abide by the KSU Elections Rules and Regulations. These will be made available to candidates before campaigning begins.
- Natalie Dutka-Bowskill (KSU Head of Membership Services) will act as the Election's Returning Officer.
- Sam Dangerfield (KSU Student Voice & Insight Manager) will act as the Election's Deputy Returning Officer.
- Mohamed Ali Ahmed (KSU Student Representation Coordinator) will act as the Election's Assistant Deputy Returning Officer.
Standing in the By-Elections is a great opportunity to represent your fellow students, make sure their voices are heard and help shape change at Kingston.
