Campus Sexual Wellness & STD Awareness Initiative

    Current
      ## Policy Statement This initiative will operate as a fixed-term policy focused on campus sexual wellness and STD awareness, with a specific emphasis on contact-based transmission risks and safe sex-toy hygiene. The policy aims to normalise discussions of sexual health, reduce stigma, and ensure students have convenient, discreet access to accurate information and resources. ## Policy Objectives - Increase student awareness of sexually transmitted infections transmitted via skin-to-skin contact, including but not limited to herpes (HSV-1, HSV-2), HPV, and syphilis. - Educate students on safe sex-toy practices, including cleaning, condom use between partners, and the infection risks of shared toys. - Provide accessible, inclusive, and stigma-free sexual wellness resources across campus, both physically and digitally. ## Policy Measures - Establish clearly signposted sexual wellness stations across campus providing free condoms, lubricants, pregnancy tests, and educational materials, restocked on a regular schedule. - Deliver a minimum number of interactive workshops each term covering consent, healthy communication, safe sex practices, and less-known transmission pathways (such as skin contact and toy sharing). - Design and disseminate concise educational content (print and digital) that addresses myths, explains contact-based transmission, and outlines step-by-step toy hygiene practices. - Integrate anonymous digital engagement (QR codes, online modules, private Q&A channels) to support students who prefer discreet access to information and support. ## Implementation and Review - The policy will run for one academic year as a fixed-term initiative, with data collected on engagement, workshop attendance, and resource uptake. - A formal review will be conducted within six months, with findings reported to the relevant council/committee and recommendations for continuation, expansion, or modification of the initiative.
