    Optional Pronouns on Student and Staff ID Cards

      If the university has not done so already, the introduction of optional pronouns on student and staff ID cards can be beneficial to promote inclusivity and respectful communication across campus. Displaying pronouns helps reduce misgendering, supports transgender and non-binary students and fosters a more welcoming environment in everyday interactions with staff and peers. Keeping pronouns optional ensures no student feels pressured to disclose personal information, while normalising pronoun sharing for those who choose to do so.
