There are a variety of categories to nominate your fellow students for their volunteer work and participation during this Academic Year.
On this page, we will describe the different award categories and you will be able to access a voting form to either nominate yourself or another student.
BUCS Club of the Year Celebrates the club that has demonstrated outstanding achievement, growth, and impact within BUCS. - And the shortlisted groups are: American Football Club, Women's Badminton Club, Men's 1st Football Club, Men's Badminton. Competitive Club of the Year This award celebrates a club that has demonstrated outstanding performance in its respective sport, showing resilience, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence throughout the year. - And the shortlisted groups are: Dance Club, Cheerleading Club, Athletics Club, and Taekwondo Club. Only one can win this award! Team of the Year This award honours a team that has achieved outstanding results in their sport or competition, while embodying the values of collaboration, perseverance, and teamwork. - And the shortlisted groups are: Taekwondo Club, American Football Club, and Netball Club. Only one can win this award! Community Engagement Award Club that has done the most for the community. - And the shortlisted groups are: American Football Club, Netball Club, and Men’s Rugby. Only one can win this award! BUCS Athlete of the Year Athlete who has excelled the most this Academic year. - And the shortlisted individuals are: Ahmad AL-Baidhani, Remi Owen, and Ayinla Mustapha. Only one can win this award! Best Newcomer of the Year Awarded to a first-year athlete who has been outstanding in training and competitions. - And the shortlisted individuals are: Ella Moskalievova, Ahmad AL-Baidhani, and Matthew Stevenson. Only one can win this award! Club Ambassador Award Awarded to the athletes who have gone above and beyond for their club. - And the shortlisted individuals are: Shanpy Sealy, Olivia Myers, Izaak Cave, Caitlyn Renshaw, Jonny Kelsey, Sundus Alnusairi, Beth Harley, Kateryna Lavreniuk, Christianna Maria Patsi, and Eli Obokohwo. Only five can win this award!
Best Society of the Year A society that ticks all the boxes, they are the best in every category and an example to all other societies. - And the shortlisted groups are: VAST Society, Islamic Society, Filipino Society, and Psychology Society. Only one can win this award! Best Newcomer of the Year A society started this academic year that ticks all the boxes. They are fresh on the scene but already killing it. - And the shortlisted groups are: Arts Society, Aviation Society, Hispanic Society, and HR Management Society. Only one can win this award! Most Vibrant Community A society with an active and obvious on campus presence, you always recognise them and their committee and the effect they have on campus. - And the shortlisted groups are: VAST Society, Filipino Society, Islamic Society, and Somali Society. Only one can win this award! Outstanding Academic Society The example of what Academic Societies should be, providing a way to connect with course-mates and learn more about your subject of studies. - And the shortlisted groups are: Pharmacy Society, Rocket Engineering Society, Psychology Society, and Business Society. Only one can win this award! Outstanding Arts & Activities Society The example of what Arts & Activities Societies should be, providing a way to connect with other students through shared hobbies and passions. - And the shortlisted groups are: Knit & Natter Society, Film Society, VAST Society, and DJ Society. Only one can win this award! Outstanding Cultural Society The example of what Cultural Societies should be, providing a home away from as well as a welcoming environment to those who want to learn more. - And the shortlisted groups are: Filipino Society, Nepalese Society, Sri Lankan Society, and Pakistan Society. Only one can win this award! Outstanding Faith Society The example of what Faith Societies should be, providing a way to connect with others over a shared faith and dive deeper into its teachings. - And the shortlisted groups are: Christian Union Society, Islamic Society, Bible Reading Society, and First Love Society. Only one can win this award! Outstanding Liberation & Campaigns Society The example of what Liberation & Campaigns Societies should be, providing a space where students can voice concerns about the issues of the world and come together to talk through the issues and work towards fixing them. - And the shortlisted groups are: LGTBQIA+ & Allies Society, Disabled Students’ Society, and Voices of Kingston Society. Only one can win this award! Outstanding Individuals in Societies An award given to those who have had an impact on their society, its community as well as helped make societies better overall. - And the shortlisted individuals are: Adam Aldamsa, Caitlin Marshall, Paulina Lipiec, Marx Manoza, Courtney Le Franc, Aaron Bettridge, Michaela Gapelbe Santander, and Andy Parobek. Only five can win this award!
Faculty Rep of the Year An award that goes to the faculty reps that have performed the best in their role and on their respective committees to improve the student exprience. - And the shortlisted individuals are: Summiyah Shahbaz, Lilly Grant, Nihaad Choudhury, Rim Boulila, and Raiyan Hossain. Only two can win this award. School Rep of the Year An award that goes to the school reps that have performed the best in their role and on their respective committees to improve the student exprience. - And the shortlisted individuals are: Seifeldin Elsawaf, Muskan Rewar, Dayna Martin, Eleven Wang, Christian Pagano. Only two can win this award. Course Rep of the Year An award that goes to the course reps that have performed the best in their role and on their respective committees to improve the student exprience. - And the shortlisted individuals are: Maham Afaq, Alisa Minasyan, Daniela Rivera, Adrija Kundu, Kirstie Konadu, Abigail Gregory, Anushka Rebecca Martin, Amina Hassan, Mustafa Noor, Gabriel Hayden. Only two can win this award. Emily Hughes Award for Most Outstanding Student An award that goes to a student who has been outstanding in representing the values of a KSU Student Leader. - And the shortlisted individuals are: Hamza Haroon, Caitlyn Renshaw, Marx Manoza, Farhan Yousuf, Tereza Golianova, Subah Noor. Only one can win this award.
