Create a Society

Bring your passion to the people at KSU

Group of students sat on a step outside a university building

What you need to start a society

  • A unique idea
  • A minimum of 3 committee members
  • 10 students to support your idea

Whether you want to explore a hobby, promote a cause or enhance the student experience at Kingston Uni, starting a student group allows you to find like-minded people and gain skills along the way.

Start a new society

What happens next?

All new societies and sports clubs are ratified by the Student Group Executive (SGE), a committee of members who represent all student groups.

SGE meets on the first Thursday of every month to dsicuss all new applications.
Our next meeting will be October 2nd 2025.

If your application is successful, you’ll be invited to our training where we’ll give you useful information to run your group.
