Learn more about what your sports club should be achieving throughout the academic year.

What is the Sports Accreditation Scheme (SAS)?

SAS is a new system we are utilising to help reward sports clubs for their performance. It contains a variety of different categories and tasks that aim to push and direct sports clubs towards being the best they can be for their members.

Below it is described how to earn towards a bronze, silver, or gold medal in each of the categories:

BUCS & LUSL Clubs' Objectives

Competitive Clubs' Objectives

What do the medals go towards?

When a sports club earns medals, they accumulate points which unlock special benefits for the club that help demonstrate and show off their success to their members as well as the wider student body.

Each medal has its own value attached. Bronze medals are worth one point, Silver Medals are worth three points, and Gold Medals are worth five points.

Each medal earned by a sports club will be added to their club page so that it can be shown to all students that the sports club has achieved a milestone in that category.

Once a sports club has accumulated thirteen points they achieve a Bronze Rank which grants them the following benefits:

  • The achievement of becoming Bronze Rank being published across KSU Socials.
  • The achievement of becoming Bronze Rank displayed on the TVs across the KSU space.

Once a sports club has accumulated twenty-six points they achieve a Silver Rank which grants them the following benefits:

  • The achievement of becoming Silver Rank being published across KSU Socials.
  • The achievement of becoming Silver Rank displayed on the TVs across the KSU space.
  • An article written on the KSU Website exaplinging their achievement and the process by which they achieved it.
  • Video interview of the committee, exploring the journey they have taken to get to this achievement.

Once a sports club  has accumulated forty points they achieve a Gold Rank which grants them the following benefits:

  • All of the Bronze & Silver Rank Rewards.
  • The achievement of becoming Gold Rank being published across KSU Socials.
  • The achievement of becoming Gold Rank displayed on the TVs across the KSU space.
  • Professional photoshoot for the club using our photography studios that can be used for promoting the sports club.
  • A special banner promoting the sports club will be displayed at next year's Freshers' Fair, drawing the attention of new students.
  • Additional training sessions booked in where available.

Reporting your Progress

It is up to the committee to report any events, achievements, projects, etc. that are required to achieve an Objective.

The progress of each sports clubs will be monitored by the Sports Office and updated with any new reported evidence.

The committee members will be notified once an Objective is achieved.
